CURRENT AND RECENT PROJECTS - 2010 and 2011

Lee University Chapel, Cleveland, TN - Acoustical design and sound system design for a 400 seat Chapel. Designed for improved acoustic music performance. Contract administration, construction observation and performance testing will be provided.

Trident Technical College Radio/Film and TV School, Charleston, SC - Planning, programming and budget development for a 17,000 square foot facility, including acoustics, electrical infrastructure, video systems and audio systems. To facilitate hands-on training with professional television and radio production equipment including: studio and field cameras; lighting instruments; video, post-production equipment as well as sound, recording and mixing equipment. Areas planned include lecture rooms, lab classrooms, computer labs, digital editing suites, TV/Film production studios, TV/Film control room, sound recording studio and control room, radio studio control rooms and a conference room. Design and construction planned for mid 2011.

Decatur Recreation Center, Decatur, GA - Acoustical, sound and video system design for a city recreation facility including a family gymnasium, divisible multipurpose/aerobics studio, multiple meeting rooms, conference rooms, social lounges, lobby and art rooms. Contract administration, construction observation and performance testing will be provided.

NBA on TNT Live TV Set, Turner Studios, Atlanta, GA - Measured and evaluated the acoustics on the set. Identified and located surfaces causing strong reflections. Determined their importance in the perceived problem of echo and poor acoustics on the Set. Provided a Report summarizing the acoustical problems encountered and provide recommendations for improvement. Provide a budget estimate for the acoustical recommendations in the report. Assisted with locating, purchasing and implementing acoustical treatments.

Georgia Perimeter College Lakeside Administration Building, Tucker, GA- Audiovisual system design for multiple classrooms, conference rooms, computer classrooms, business center and digital signage campus TV. Contract administration, construction observation and performance testing will be provided.

Harbor View Elementary School, Charleston, SC - Acoustical design and review for LEED for Schools certification of an Elementary School.

First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, GA - Acoustical re-design and a new sound system design for an existing 2775 seat Sanctuary. Electro-acoustic computer modeling performed for acoustical design and sound system performance predictions. Orchestra, choir and blended music production capabilities. Sound system commissioning provided.

Georgia Tech Musicians Network “Under The Couch”, Atlanta, GA - Acoustical and sound system design for a Live Music Café with Tech Booth, Large Live Recoding Studio Room, Vocal Studio Booth and Recording Control Room. Integration of existing audio equipment including Protools recording systems. Existing area of the Student Center with a movie theater below and a ballroom above. Sound isolation design was a priority. Fiber optic link provided between UTC and the WREK radio station for simulcast and on-air live productions. Contract administration, construction observation and performance testing provided.

Colleton High School, Colleton County, SC - Acoustical design of a 1000 seat Auditorium, Band Rehearsal Room, Choral Rehearsal Room, Individual Practice Rooms and classrooms.

Hancock County Historic Courthouse, Bay St. Louis, MS - Acoustical analysis and re-design of an existing historic courtroom. Acoustical measurements and tests were performed by a local firm. Electro-Acoustic computer modeling was required to determine acoustical treatments. BASWAPhon plaster like absorbing material was selected for it’s aesthetic and acoustic value and to keep within historic guidelines.

Pace Academy, Atlanta, GA - Acoustical analysis and re-design of an existing Band Rehearsal Room for a private high school. Acoustical measurements and tests were performed. A new design with a balance of absorption and diffusion was proposed.

Room size and geometry designed for improved acoustic music performance. Left Center Right theatrical loudspeaker system with two mix positions; house mix position and projection booth position. Contract administration, construction observation and performance testing will be provided.

The Schools at Carver Recording Studio, Atlanta, GA - Acoustical design and details for the renovation of a mens locker area into a recording studio suite. Originally planned for 1100 square feet with a Control Room, Large ensemble Room, Group Room and a Vocal Booth. Eventually built as 800 square feet without the large ensemble area. Performed a site survey and noise evaluation of the facility site. Provide Acoustical Noise Criteria and Guidelines which includes architectural and HVAC noise level requirements and goals. Assisted with architectural room drawings, construction detail drawings and recommended building methods for sound isolation, including walls, ceilings, doors and windows. Provided analysis and acoustics design for interior spaces. Tasks included; shape and size calculations acoustic finish product type and placement, as well as loudspeaker monitoring locations and evaluation. Provided infrastructure design and drawings such as conduit, AC power and heat load requirements for the HVAC designers. Assisted in the Audio System product selections.

Catholic Church of Saint Ann, Marietta, GA - Acoustical design, sound system design and video system design for a renovated 855 seat Nave. Contemporary band production capabilities required. Video projection, PTZ camera recording and campus wide distribution. Contract administration, construction observation and commissioning was provided.
